So I moved out on the 15th(I think) with the help of my aunt and uncle. I didnt want to say goodbye to the degenerates that I lived with so I just left without saying anything as quickly as I could. I stayed around my aunts place for a couple of days while the sale of next door was finalised and then moving day! Was kinda excited at that point but the prospect of no internet at that point worried me. However worse was to come.

After a couple of days and having not settled in yet I downloaded XBox360 pad drivers. Bamm!! Registry was knackered. I spent a week trying to get my machine back up and running and half a week trying to recover all the files on the affected HDD. Luckily I had the forsight to back up my most important files like my ideas and my photos long ago but on the hard drive were game saves and various downloads I spent a while downloading from Youtube. In the end I gave up and formatted because of the time it wouldve taken to scan, recover and search through the 300,000+ files that were found.

The second half of last and the start of this week was where the first spat with next door started. The internet was installed but the speed we were getting was stupidly slow. I needed this sorted. At this point Amanda had just moved in and was concerned too about the internet speed. Something had to be the matter so I asked my aunt to investigate/take it up with Virgin Media. In the meantime I used the 20m long ethernet cable to give myself stable internet. She didnt like this and all hell broke loose. My aunt complained that I complained, calling me ungrateful for what theyve done for me. I didnt like this but what could I have done? My dad had a go at me for complaining and so on. Things kinda just blew up quickly! There was more to it but to be honest after the week ive had last week wasnt too bad. Anyway things calmed down and the net is kinda fixed (although im still unhappy at the down speed on my torrents).

So to this week and wow how the drama escalated. First off the reason for the drama- in our contracts there’s a clause stating that guests may only stay over two nights per week. Any further nights and the offending party will be charged £20 per additional night. Now for a start I completely disagree with this clause and had an issue with signing the contract due to its inclusion. For a start its not needed(and if the past 3 weeks are anything to go by its unneccessary). Secondly its been put in as a form of control on the household, a common theme as i’ll explain a bit later.

So thats the backstory, here’s the story proper. Rob has been picking Amanda up of a morning and taking her to the station for work. The time that Rob picks her up is close to the time that my aunt/uncle leaves for work as well and as a result theyve seen his car parked outside of the house most mornings. That coupled with the fact Rob goes back to his own house quite late at night has given them the suspicion that Rob has been staying over past his allotted two nights a week. Cue Deb quizzing Amanada about it while she is at work. Now ive an issue with this and Amanda did also but she kept calm and replied explaining the situation to Deb. Deb apologised and all seemed well…until Amanda sent a text that blew everything to pieces. Amanda said that Rob was allowed to stay 4 nights per week due to using my allotted two nights. Amanda meant this inocently. Deb read it as me giving Amanda my two nights to do with as she wishes. Deb then texts me asking why ive given my two nights to Amanda. I obviously say I didnt and then all hell breaks loose. Deb, as per usual, doesnt believe a word im saying and goes off on one, calling me ungrateful for everything that she has done for me etc etc. Its at this point I couldve gone one of two ways- keep calm and ignore her stupidity or point it out. You can guess what I did.

It amazes me that very few of my family members trust me enough to tell the truth. They expect me to side with my friends when in fact im not going to side with anyone. I said this in a sternly worded text back to her and didnt get a reply that night. I got one the following day from my uncle. Telling me what I can and cant do, saying that ive now got an issue with him for hurting my aunt. He rages harder than ive seen him rage before, threatening to stop all visitors, threatening to throw me out by my neck and finally storming off ‘so that he didnt thump me’. I was riled at this point and later that night so was Amanda and Rob. Just like me they had had enough and wanted out just a few weeks into our tenancy.

Yesterday came the ‘discussion’. My uncle came over and said a hell of a lot of things I disagree with and know that are wrong. During this discussion I got the blame for the entire escapade, being called the troublemaker of the house. I was told to do this and not to do that and all along I kept nodding and agreeing. There was a lot I couldve said at that point but I thought id be the smarter man and keep quiet until the issues arise again. Some of the things coming out of his mouth were laughable! Apparantly I should feel obliged to grass on my fellow housemates if they break any rules. I should be the one policing the house for the sake of my family who own the house. Any issues and I should be the one to sort it. Now ive no idea why the hell thats my job and why I should feel obliged. Thats not part of the tenancy! Also apparantly im not grateful enough for everything that they have done for me. They want me to show it more. Seriously what the hell do they want? Fresh cut flowers every morning? A cooked meal every evening? I dont understand how I can be more grateful than I have already been!

So thats the drama in a very big nutshell, the upshot of which is me wanting to move out, Amanda thinking my aunt is spying on her and Matt bewildered at how strict the landlords are. Oh I forgot to mention Matt! He moved in a week ago, best friend of Amandas. He’s cool but could talk for his country. Desperate to get a job, spends all day job hunting or thinking about jobs. Too good at FIFA 12!

Anyways in summary im not a happy bunny right now. The way things are im moving after my 6 month tenancy expires, as is Amanda and Matt. Im hoping things cool down in the coming weeks but as it is I cant tolerate whats been going on for much longer. There’s more drama here than in the old place!

The next change is the frequency of the ‘Random Questions’. Im the first to admit that im scheduling them to appear every few days but im pretty sure they’ll run out soon. So from that point onwards they will be posted as and when I feel like it.

Finally I have a backlog to the game reviews. Whether or not I get around to writing them I dont know so dont expect them anytime soon and treat them as, well, treats when they do appear! I might start writing mini reviews instead of the long ones.

Oh and I intend to catch up on the Track of the Week sometime. Maybe not soon though, see how I feel
